Gerard Manley Hopkins Poetry

    In our day poetry is sometimes almost a lost art, and good poetry can be difficult to find. Hopkins was a 19^th century English monk, who had mastered the art of religious poetry. I am not well versed in poetic criticism, if I read something and enjoy it I will say it is good, but, cannot necessarily say why. Hopkins’ poetry I find very good, the themes he works with seem to resonate with me. As with all good poetry, often one has o re-read Hopkins, but, this poetry is worth the reflection. Poetry must be experienced and I feel that everyone should experience this poetry.
